“Thank You to all who showed support”

Thank you to the Viet Nam Vets MC, 2nd Brigade MC and Leathernecks MC would like to thank all of those that attended the homecoming for 3/25 on April 10th. Why was this a big deal (?) – well 33 deployed and 33 returned home. There were many fears laid to rest when that bus was finally full of Marines and Corpsmen.

There were members from the Patriot Guard, LC13, Copperheads, Rolling Thunder, Warthogs MC (on duty on their PD bikes), HOG members and many other clubs and individuals. It was awesome and there were between 50 and 60 bikes at times rolling loud and proud through the rain and cold. Marines are hard to impress but you guys did a great job of impressing them yesterday.

Cleveland PD allowed us to block the arriving passenger aisles with bikes and the bus and each returning vet was cheered as they passed through the gauntlet of the public and the veterans.

One VNV said that leading these troops home was a greater thrill to him than his own homecoming and their position at the front of the line was an honor they won’t soon forget. I will never forget the hug he gave me while he told me those words.

Returning Marines Meet their escorts.

So for a few short minutes in the rain and cold a few dedicated bikers made a difference and showed the Marines, their families and the public passing through Cleveland Hopkins International Airport that we really do support our troops. The greeting went a little longer than planned and many of you missed other obligations such as HOG Chapter meetings, family dinners and other notable personal obligations. You made the right choice and thank you.

God Bless them all and keep bringing them all back alive and well.
