Kick-off Ghost Rider event a success
This past Saturday’s event at The Outpost- to raise funds for the Ghost Rider Foundation was a complete success. Co-Founder and our own Chapter President McWoodstock, tells us that between the cover charge and the charity auctions, over $2,300 was generated help bring awareness to PTSD. The National Leadership of the Leathernecks MC also has committed $2,000.00 to the cause. In addition, Joe Lorek’s family donated a whopping $5,000.00 to the cause bringing the amount of funds raised to $9,300.00.
McWoodstock also wanted me to pass along…
Gold Star Chapter member Chef did all the cooking and we had 10 boned skin on hams cooked to perfection. Macaroni salad, potato salad, cole slaw, hillbilly biker beans (guiness is the secret ingredient), pizzas (donated by HDOGG), Italian sausage with green peppers and onions (donated by Chef) and a mess of other stuff rounded out the menu.
We had some great support from the 2nd Brigade MC and the Guardians (veterans riders club) each made a nice donation and complimented us on our involvement in this worthy cause.
The band was RASP donated their services and played from 7:30 until 1:30am. Music was first rate and if they had a sound man and board it would have been better. Classic rock and roll but the lead singer (female) did a kick ass rendition of a lot of Janis Joplin’s hits. They kept hittin it strong until they quit.
